Collaboration with UC Davis for Superior Quality Chandler Walnuts

The farm has consulted with experts from UC Davis California University to produce the highest quality walnuts, primarily the Chandler variety, due to its popularity, and continues to do so. Its main characteristics are light color, thin shell, and high kernel ratio.
The facilities and production process used by Ataman Farm are among the most advanced in Turkey.

Thanks to its significant investments, the farm produces the highest quality walnuts. The process includes pest management, effective irrigation and nutrition systems using drip irrigation, efficient harvesting using machines that shake the walnuts from the trees, collecting the walnuts from the ground with harvesting machines, removing the green husk with shelling machines, and quickly sorting the walnuts on a conveyor belt.

Finally, the highest quality walnuts are sent to the dryer to reach an optimum moisture content of 8% to preserve the best quality.

All of these processes are implemented to ensure maximum quality in the taste, appearance, and storage potential of the walnuts.

The farm also has 2,000 pecan trees and plans to be on the market at the beginning of the 2025 harvest season.

The walnuts are then categorized according to the following sizes: 34+, 28-34, 28, and 25 kg bags ready for shipment.
